A Montreal native, Dr. Yamen Ghamian earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences of McGill University before completing a one-year certificate program in Advanced Education General Dentistry at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Passionate about providing compassionate care, he has proudly served our community since 2004!
Inspired to become a dentist at 13, Dr. Yamen has long been passionate about the power of a healthy, confident smile. His goal is to provide customized dentistry in a calming setting where patients feel truly listened to and cared for, whether they’re new to our practice or have trusted us for years with their smile.
Dr. Yamen graduated with the top marks of his graduating class at McGill University and received several awards, including the Dr. Thornton Gold Medal for the highest standing in the dental degree program and the Prix Aldis Bernard award for excellence in academic achievements in dentistry. He is also a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, exemplifying his dedication to ongoing learning and diligent patient care.
Dr. Habib Khoury earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from McGill University’s Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences, where he served in multiple student leadership roles. He completed a hospital residency at Montreal’s Royal Victoria Hospital before providing dental care to northern and remote communities in Ontario and Nunavut. Since 2005, he has provided comprehensive dental services to patients in the Ottawa area.
For Dr. Habib Khoury, dentistry is about people first — building trust, sharing smiles, and making every patient feel cared for. His approach blends advanced science with a human touch, ensuring that each patient receives personalized, restorative, and cosmetic care in a calm and compassionate environment.
Dr. Khoury maintains active membership in the Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, and American Dental Association. He has completed post-graduate education in orthodontics, clear aligner therapy, implant dentistry, endodontics, and cosmetic techniques, and is passionate about supporting community outreach initiatives, including Free Dentistry Day, Canadian Dentistry for Refugees, and the Ottawa Charity Run.
Dr. Tamara Erak began her academic journey at Carleton University, earning a bachelor’s degree in integrated science with a concentration in health sciences and a minor in biology. She then attended Ryerson University, where she pursued a master’s degree in molecular science with a focus on glycobiology. Dr. Tamara then earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from The Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine.
With training in restorative, endodontics, periodontics, laser dentistry, Invisalign®, CAD/CAM technology, and oral surgery, Dr. Tamara brings a comprehensive approach to patient care. She enjoys working with patients of all ages, using her experience and skill to help them achieve their healthiest, most confident smiles!
Dr. Tamara held multiple executive positions during her studies at The Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine, including Prosthodontic Study Club President, Dental Anesthesia Membership Director, and Academy of General Dentistry Clinical Representative. She is a proud member of the Ottawa Dental Society, Ontario Dental Association, Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, and the Canadian Dental Association.
Dr. Hussein Al-Mufti achieved his bachelor’s degree in dental surgery from the University of Baghdad before training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Malaya in Malaysia. He then earned a master’s degree in public health from the University of Glasgow and gained valuable clinical experience in England, where he served as a senior house officer in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Bradford Royal Infirmary. After moving to Canada, he immediately started his qualification exams to obtain his dental license and completed the International Dental Degree Program at the University of Manitoba.
Helping patients restore their confidence and optimal oral health is at the heart of Dr. Hussein’s approach. He does everything he can to help patients love their smiles, and is particularly passionate about restoring smiles with long-lasting implants. Dr. Hussein is fluent in English and Arabic, and is dedicated to serving a diverse range of patients.
Dr. Hussein has received numerous awards, including the Dr. William Bloom Prize for the highest overall average in Oral Surgery, the Dr. Joseph Freeman Memorial Prize, and the Canadian Academy of Periodontology Award of Excellence. He is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the Canadian Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Association, and the Ottawa Dental Society.
Dr. Zaina Kahiel was born and raised in Ottawa. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and a Master of Science in Epidemiology from the University of Ottawa before completing her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honours at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Kahiel enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care. She believes strong patient relationships are built on trust, open communication, and collaboration. She is dedicated to helping patients feel informed, supported, and confident in their care.
Dr. Kahiel graduated with honours from the University of Toronto’s Doctor of Dental Surgery program. She is also dedicated to community service and regularly volunteers at free dental clinics. She has participated in international outreach initiatives, including a mission trip to Jamaica.
Dr. Altay earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with honours from Gulf Medical University, graduating first in his class, before completing a one-year dental internship. He later returned to Canada and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Alberta.
Committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care, Dr. Altay values building lasting relationships with his patients through trust, compassion, and open communication. He believes in taking the time to listen to his patients, understand their concerns, and ensure they feel heard.
Dr. Altay graduated first in his class from Gulf Medical University and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with honours. He is also passionate about community service and participated in SHINE, a student-led organization providing dental care to underserved populations. Dr. Altay is a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association, and the Canadian Dental Association.

Outside our practice, Julie loves family life in Ottawa with her husband and three daughters. She also enjoys expressing her creativity in the kitchen as a retired Red Seal chef.

Kristy has many years of experience as a dental assistant and devotes herself to supporting colleagues and patients with diligence and care. As the team lead and Dr. Habib’s trusted “right hand,” she’s focused on helping orthodontic patients enjoy straighter smiles.
Outside the office, Kristy adores horseback riding with her daughter, cheering her son on at the rink, and relaxing with her two dogs.
Focused on making visits as calm and relaxed as possible, Amani’s positive energy and enthusiasm shine through in every patient interaction. Supporting our hygienists and doctors, her fun-loving and attentive approach is known for putting even the most anxious patient at ease.

Abby is a dental professional with a passion for patient care and lifelong learning. He completed the Level I and II Dental Assisting program at Algonquin College while continuing to develop his clinical skills and knowledge. Abby values teamwork, kindness, and professionalism, and strives to make a positive impact on those around him.

Jing graduated with honours from the Dental Assisting Level II program at Algonquin College in 2024 and received the 123Dentist Award. She joined the Centrum Dental team in 2025 and is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable, cared for, and confident throughout their dental visits. Drawing on both her healthcare education and previous experience in banking, Jing is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and helping patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles.
Outside the office, Jing enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing the piano, listening to music, singing, practicing yoga, and taking walks in nature.
Disha completed the Medical Device Reprocessing program at Algonquin College and holds a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology. She joined the Centrum Dental team as a Sterilization Technician in May 2026, bringing a strong educational background and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care.
Outside of work, Disha enjoys reading the Bhagavad Gita, exploring nature through walks and travel, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
With over 30 years of customer service experience, Lisa takes pride in doing everything she can to keep our practice running smoothly behind the scenes. A true people person, she genuinely enjoys connecting with patients and supporting her colleagues and community in any way she can.

Bri joined the Centrum team as a Hygiene Coordinator in January 2026, bringing over a decade of experience in medical and healthcare services. She is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable, supported, and cared for throughout their healthcare journey, and draws on her strong background in patient care, organization, and communication to create a welcoming experience.
Originally from the United States, Bri recently made Canada her home after immigrating in December 2025. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, along with their cat and snake. In her free time, she can often be found behind a camera, watching hockey, or working on her current novel.
Always ready to answer questions to ensure you feel well-informed, Ahmed assists with clinical procedures and behind-the-scenes tasks. Dedicated to cultivating a smooth, straightforward experience, he does all he can to help ensure our office runs like a well-oiled machine.
In his free time, Ahmed is passionate about staying active with sports, volunteering in his community, and spending time with friends and family.
Neiah joined Centrum Dental as a Dental Administrator in the fall of 2024. In her role, she focuses on streamlining office operations, ensuring a seamless patient experience, and collaborating with an exceptional team to deliver high-quality care.
Beyond her work at Centrum Dental, Neiah is also an online personal trainer and runs a baking business. She enjoys spending time outdoors, finding inspiration and balance in nature. With a strong passion for health, creativity, and efficiency, Neiah strives to bring a well-rounded, positive approach to both her personal and professional life.
Heather joined the Centrum team as an Administrative Assistant in 2025 and brings over 25 years of customer service experience. She is passionate about providing exceptional patient care, building positive relationships, and helping patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their dental experience.
Before returning to Canada, Heather spent 10 years living in Asia, where she founded and managed nonprofit organizations focused on animal rescue and community support. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs. She is proud to bring compassion, strong communication skills, and a commitment to helping others to the team every day.
Sarina joined Centrum Dental as a Dental Administrator in the summer of 2025. She is dedicated to providing exceptional patient-centred care and believes that a positive patient experience is an important part of every visit. She strives to help patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their dental care.
Outside of the clinic, Sarina enjoys spending time outdoors and making the most of every season. She also values time with friends and family and enjoys staying involved and connected with loved ones.
