Invisible Braces Kanata - Invisalign Kanata - Dentist Kanata

Our Kanata-based dental office, Centrum Dental Centre, is proud to offer our patients Invisalign, otherwise known as invisible braces. Invisalign treatment consists of removable, clear braces that allow you to straighten your teeth without feeling self-conscious.

Traditionally, dentists have had relatively few options when it comes to straightening and aligning teeth. The two options that are effective, but cumbersome in their own ways, are metal braces and retainers. Unfortunately, many patients find them to be unsightly or uncomfortable.

Luckily, patients now have the option to use Invisalign. Our top-rated dentists offer consultations to educate you on how it works and if it’s suitable for your teeth. Invisalign, which has been used to successfully treat over 10 million people worldwide, has similar principles as traditional braces. As such, both treatments apply mechanical force to your teeth which, over time, aligns them into the right positions in your mouth. However, Invisalign works by creating 3D printed clear plastic moulds of your teeth as opposed to traditional braces, which uses metal wires and brackets. These moulds are made from a patented thermoplastic material referred to as “SmartTrack.” They’re created digitally, and several moulds are created.

Each one will incrementally move your teeth a little closer to perfect alignment. It’s a tailored dental solution that uses just enough pressure to allow the next mould in the progression to fit. Invisalign is more comfortable for patients and can work upto 25% faster than braces or retainers. With Invisalign, it’s much less of a hassle: you don’t have any canker sores from the brackets nor do you have aching pain from the regular tightening of the wires. The only thing is that it is inadvisable to remove the Invisalign whenever you want, even though you are able to. You must only remove it when you are eating or drinking, brushing your teeth, and dealing with acute discomfort.
